One Personality Trait as a Motivator

During an interview, I was asked what got me out of bed every day.

It’s not money. (I like a roof above my head.) It’s not the “need to be #1”. (I am aggressively competitive.) Power and fame doesn’t motivate me. (Being a Disney villain sounds awesome, though.)

It’s sheer curiosity.

And the best part? It’s learnable. Question the status quo. Why is something? Ask it at any time.

The most important part: embrace learning about things outside your interests.

“Why does this thermos keep my coffee warm longer?” “Why did he get a 1000 newsletter subscribers?”

I’ll end on this motivational anecdote: Him: “Do you play the piano?” She: “I don’t know. I have not tried yet.”
